wow.
My very own blog.
a couple of months ago i didn’t even know what a blog was.
if you had asked me i might have said…
a really bad clog?
some weird form of bog?
a very pronounced shuffling walk, kind of like a slog.
a monster kind of like a troll?
i’m sure i won’t have any really witty …witticisms? like my brother,
but if you want to hear what i’m thinking, i’ll do my best.
i’m out of a job, and – as one of my friends was saying – that’s a good thing, in a way, ‘cause it’s like having the summer off (with just a little more stress, i suppose) and boy, i’ve been living it up…
trip here, trip there, party here, party there. (all within acceptable limits, of course) keepin’ me busy enough so it’s hard to look for a job. but that will come.
what i’ve come up against is something a few of us get to see but tend to forget. our normal lives are spent with a very small group of people with very similar background and influences, and we sometimes forget that there are so many different perspectives of life, even among Christians. sure, we all have different views on certain subjects, which we discuss endlessly. but many times, if we meet a Chrisitan, we assume they have the same infomation and level of training in their heads as we do in ours – and that is so often not the case. but what it all comes down to is – is Jesus Christ Savior AND Lord of your life?
Of all the thousands of points to be discussed, this one is non-negotiable.
and by the way, the current politically correct thinking of relativity – namely, what’s right for me is right for me, but not necessarily right for you – you have to decide what’s right for you? is completely contradictory to it’s own idea. and if people actually sat down to think about it they would realize how idiotic it is to believe such a thing.
for example, based on this thinking, if a person decides it’s right for them to come in and steal all your stuff, what right have you to say anything? they’re just doing what’s right for them! i haven’t met too many people who would say that’s ok with them.
so then, there can be no such thing as relativity, which would mean that there is such a thing as absolute truth, and where does that leave you? In the beginning was the Word, and the word was God.
Jesus loves you.
Rachel.
